Boo Boo

How can you not love this boy?  He is such a sweetheart.  And he is still such a good baby.  Always has been and I pray, always will be.  Trent and I call him "Boo Boo."  I'm not sure why, it just started one day and hasn't stopped.  (But I hope it doesn't stick, cause I love the name Heston.  I guess I need to start by calling him his name.)  Heston is a happy boy.  He is very chill.  He is loving his toys.  He grabs them and plays with them and throws them around.  He has been eating rice cereal and fruit or veggies for about a month.  It took him a few tries to figure out how to swallow it down, and now he loves it.  He loves his hands to be played with.  He loves soft things in his hands and he covers his face with a soft blankie to fall asleep.  He is definitely getting more generous with his smiles.  He is getting good at laughing too.  His dad is good at getting him to laugh.  It's so stinking cute.  I love it with all my heart.  At 5 1/2 months he weighs 18lbs 5ozs. 26ins. long. He's not super chubby, but he is a big solid boy.  Although, his cheeks are pretty chubby and lovable.  His eye lashes are not just lovable, but to die for.  He is starting to get some new hair.  It's totally blond.
For the last few months I've been working at the eye Dr.'s office.  It has been such a blessing.  I love it.  I work a couple days a week and I get to spend the rest of the time with my sweet boy.  It was a hard decisions to leave the detention center, but I am happy with the one I made.  It really has been such a blessing!

Melt my heart!

He already loves books.  He just eats them up.

My sweet sweet boy.

To die for lashes.

EASTER!

Our busy Easter week started with a trip to Mesa Verde.  It was Heston's first time to see some ruins, and he was so excited. (as he snoozes away)

We took a little stroll to the Spruce Tree House ruin.

My mom, Michele and I met my cousin Tanya and her family in Cortez and we all went to Mesa Verde together.
On Saturday, we, and by we, I mean all the cowboys and city slickers, had a bunch of calves to brand. And this bunch of boys, I'm sure, were a lot of help.
Hanging out after branding, waiting for the picnicking and egg hunting to get underway.
There were well over 70 people there to "help" brand.
And then it was time to relax and picnic and eat and hunt eggs.

David is trying to contain the kids while the 500+ eggs were being hidden.
Apparently David let one slip by him, littler sneaker got a head start on the egg hunt.

Heston wasn't into the Easter egg hunt, but he had some cousins that shared their goods.
I thought I better document this moment.  Keaton on a horse!!!  He use to steer clear of the horses.  What a cute cowboy he is.

Baby Wyatt is born. 2/17/2012 Meeting the brother and sisters.

Baby Wyatt meets his cousins, Heston and Chezney.

Jake and Heston with their matching ties.
Aunt Michele with lots of nieces and nephews.

Heston and I went to Midway to visit Heather and Finley.  It felt like we were playing house for a few days.  Ha ha.
Fat guy in little pants.
I got him dressed to go to church and apparently he has grown since the last time I put him in these pants.

A cute baby meets a cute kid.
Heston was totally intrigued with Land Before Time on the iPad.

Aidyn 4 weeks. Heston 4.5 months. Finley 8 weeks.

That's one happy boy.
We've tried spoon feeding a few times.  This is how it goes: spoon goes in mouth, he makes a face.......
.....and it promptly comes right back out.

Blessing day. 12 weeks. 1/29/12

All ready for church in his Christmas tie.  What a stud. 2/5/12

Everyone says they grow sooooo fast.  Now I believe it.  He is getting so big.  He is such a good boy.  At 3 and a half months he's still a good sleeper.  He is a good eater.  He eats a ton.  He is as big as his cousin that is 7 weeks older and even one that is 3 months older.  He is a very chill baby.  He is usually content to just hang out in his swing or on the couch.  He is a good traveler.  We have traveled some with him and he's done great.  When it comes to baby talk, he is a man of few words.  He doesn't make a lot of noise.  I assume he'll find his voice someday. He's quiet, but very busy.  He's always kicking and waving his hands.  And as far a smiles, he only shares them on special occasions.  I guess he's more of a serious dude.  But when he does smile, it's enough to melt this mom's heart.  He loves his binki and if he doesn't have his binki, he discovered his hands do just fine.  He loves sucking on those things.  He mostly sucks on his left hand.  I think he's going to be left handed like me.  : )  It's been great to be able to be home with him a lot of the time.  I just hope he likes me as much as I like him. : )
